| Okay, I haven't updated in a while because it's been a little hectic.
On Saturday I moved into my flat in Cambridge and am here for the week before I go home for christmas. Nice cosy little top floor flat with a guy called Brent who is lovely. We get on well and I don't feel like I have to stand on ceremony.
I miss my car already, especially during this cold snap. Usually I am fine with cold snaps and I love the winter and the frost, but I begin to consider when I am sat on a train platform for 45 minutes, getting colder and colder. Plus the buses in Cambridge are diabolical.
The amusing thing is at the moment is that they are hoping to introduce a congestion charge in Cambridge and are trying to get people to take public transport. I will be commuting to Saffron Walden each day and I don't actually mind taking the train and bus to get there, it's not a massive problem.
However, not counting the fact that all buses in Cambridge are CRAP (come back York and Gloucester buses all is forgiven), I have worked out that it will cost £38.00 a week including a daily 1 and 1/2 mile walking round trip, compared to less than a tank of fuel to do the commute there by car. So not only is it on time and convenient, it's also cheaper. Go figure.
Been at the school too for the last three days, ggetting overwhelmed by stuff and requirements. Feel like a trainee all over again. I must keep reminding myself to be stern. Stern. Stern. I am evil. - Tags:cambridge
