| To say this week has been stressful would be understatement of the century.
I had my examined lessons last week. The first one went not bad, not entirely good. The seoncd one fairly rockethed but I had an evil examiner too, the third one coddl have gone better but they made progress.
So now we wait.
The amusing story of that week was that my rabble of Year 9 boys had to sit through the Year 12 Performing Art Dance Exam as the audience. Four seventeen year old girls in various hot pants, ra-ra skirts, shorter than short shorts and strappy tops leaping aobut and doing the splits less then a foot away. This made for uncomfrtable shifting of legs and moving of jackets which had the rest of us tittering.
I also had an interview this week *sighs* Didn't get it for these reasons
1. The university haven't actually told me when or if I'm passing 2. I'm an NQT and the department will only be staffed by one other who is part-time so noone to mentor me (lord know swhy they called me for an interview) 3. They wanted 90% Media Studies teacher and I wasn't qualified enough (well the application implied 50/50 split and lord knows why they called me for interview then)
Also it was a mile walk from the bus stop which made it a bit of a slog, the school was lovely and the english department was great even if the Deputy Head was a bit of a snippy bitch. Although the English Department have a scheme of work devoted to Myst ... aww and how much did I fall in love with that ... damnit. If they advertise for an English teacher I am there.
But sitll managed to see Pirates 3 and Shrek 3. Shrek 3 should not do anymore this one started to lside and get samey but still titter-worthy in places. Pirates was good, a little confusing at times but if you ignored the narrative then it buckled some serious swash. I also got free tickets of the gorund of their internet booking system being pants and it was a good way to wind up the interview day. Especially as when waiting for K-chan to meet me from work I went window shopping and blitzing the debenhams changing room looking for clothes and trying on crap that I wouldn't try on in a million years (note to self, 50s prom dress styles made your boobs look great but due to you being a short chubby chibi you look like a cross between a toilet roll cover and a cream puff). Also sampled various expensive perfumes and make-ups and a wonderbra that did make a cleavage so much as a valley you could yodel down. Window shopping is fun though, will have to take Fen-chan, I feel like dressing up someone and she could become a pet project. You hear that Fen.
Me and K-chan made a date of it by seeing the film at 5 and then going for dinner at a bar by the river all lit with traditional lamps. We enjoyed a nice dinner out with cocktails of very nice quality. It was a lovely date and we haven't had a good date in a while which made for scikeningly cute stuff on the way home ith snuggles and kisses. Yeah four years down the line and we are still disgusting.
I am just compiling my files and folders for the grand inspection tomorrow. Six lever arch files will be making their way across Gloucester to be inspected along with two assignments, four signing sheets. I then carry on to Cheltenham to the mandatory NQT conference that has a picnic at the end of it. If the caterings anything like the NQT welcome conference, the English group are buggering off the bar down the road.
So this is the final ride ladies and gents, grab hold and join in. |
